review 1: Tykkäsin. Mielenkiintoinen maailma, hykerryttäviä intertekstuaalisia viittauksia (olisi saanut olla enemmänkin!) ja mahtava päähenkilö. Piirrosjälki ei aina iskenyt ihan kympillä, olisin toivonut enemmän eläimellisyyttä myös hahmojen kroppiin. Nyt vaikutelma oli vähän palapelimäinen (eläimen pää + ihmisen keho). Annoin kolme tähteä neljän sijaan ensisijaisesti kuitenkin sen takia, että tarinassa oli sellainen kliseeratkaisu liittyen päähenkilön romanttisten tunteiden kohteeseen, joka nyt vaan ottaa minua ihan tolkuttomasti pattiin. Ehkä jotain toista se ei haittaa. Minua se jurppi. Karvattomien simpanssien vähä-älyinen alalaji oli hauska lisä maailmaan ja kyllä tätä mielellään enemmänkin lukee.
review 2: I'm reading these ou... moret of order since I read the third collection for the Hugo ballot and this one is now the first one. Gave me lots of back history to the third volume but was a great story in itself. If you like steampunk, Sherlock Holmes riffs and/or anthropomorphic animals then this is a great story for you. The art is as good as the story and now I will need to track down the second volume and keep my eyes peeled for more set in this universe. less
