review 1: Super quick read about Alex and Tessa who were best friends in high school. At graduation Tessa confesses her love for Alex and he takes off for the Army. When he comes home during leave she does her best to avoid him. Now that he is back for good he wants Tessa! It's an ok story - but it doesn't seem to develop the characters -- Alex comes back -- Tessa resists -- He pursues - she caves - they get together. Not one of my favorites
review 2: After reading this book I get the feeling I'm outside the target demographic as I found it annoying and childish.The book opens with the hero having an erotic dream about his ex-best friend Tessa, who confessed her love at their high school graduation. The hero, Alex, kissed her on the cheek and left town the next ... moreday for the army without speaking to her again.4 years later he rocks back up at home and wants to pick up where he left off. The book is filled with his attempts to win Tessa and her attempts to rebuff him, while eventually succumbing to his charms.Antics include him moving into the apartment across the hall from hers and blasting loud music to get her attention, entering her apartment uninvited using a key he has access to as part of his job & sending her frogs legs to remind her of their first meeting.The book didn't flow well for me and the poor spelling also put me off. I really hate when I buy a book and find it has spelling mistakes. One of the funniest in this book was the use of gravel instead of grovel. This is definitely not a keeper; thank goodness it was only 99c. less
