review 1: I enjoyed reading a young adult novel from a male's perspective. Hank is a lost character who is hoping to discover who he once was while attempting to focus on the present. As a reader, you follow Hank on his journey as he tries to remember. Once you see he has remembered, you relive the accident with him. I wish more would have been done with the ending because I would have liked to have seen interaction between Hank and his family. Overall, it was a good read, and I would recommend it to a high school student.
review 2: The story I read was Being Henry David. I chose this book because it looked very interesting. Which I found out that it was very interesting. I will start off by telling about how the book starts off. This story starts with a kid who lost his... more memory and didn't know where he was, or who he was. In the beginning of the story he went by Hank, then throughout the story his name changes into Henry, and he uses those names throughout the story. Hank was lost then he found a kid named Jack, he found Jack when he went to the bathroom. Jack lives in an alley way behind a dumpster, with his sister Nessa. Jack and Nessa helped Hank out for awhile then Hank had to leave, he had to go somewhere safe. Then the next day Hank went to the nearest train station and bought a ticket and went to Concord, Massachusetts. When Hank arrived to Concord he looked around and seen all of the signs that said Thoreau Street and a school named after Henry David Thoreau. Then he ran into a girl and she showed Hank around, then she showed him where he wanted to go which was Walden Pond. I rated this book five stars because it is really interesting and I would recommend people to read it. less
