review 1: I definitely liked this book, but not as much as the first one. While I still loved the characters and Chafer's writing, I think the main reason I didn't like this book as much as the first was because I found it more predictable, from the characters' actions to the "villain". The writing is good; the pace still keeps it a page turner. Overall, still highly enjoyable even if I like the first one better.
review 2: This book was great. I loved the three investigations overlapping and complicating each other. I loved the sexual tension of the triangle, and how Lexi isn't completely sure what she wants. I didn't like the "I have to prove myself" in the PI office line, but it didn't really detract from the book. I'm intrigued by Ruby's role in the book, and I can't ... morewait to find out what happens with Serena's relationship. This is just well-done, escapist chick lit, and I love it! less
