review 1: Overall, I enjoyed Nick and Casey story. It was a fun and quick read, it even had some quirky dialogue that I like. If you are seeking a diversion: something light, fun, romantic and sort of steamy-ish, this is your perfect read.There were a couple things that did bother me.First is the PNR aspect. The paranormal element was barely existent. We have a vamp that eats regular food, goes out in the sun, acts a little to much like a normal human being. Only get a glimpse here and there of his fangs and how powerful Nick really is.This world is filled with hidden supernaturals. To me it would help if Ms. Haven spent more time building that world. There was some questionable things going on that would of been nice if it was explain on.Second thing- Casey bother me with her low s... moreelf-esteem. She really didn't think very highly of herself.,she put her self down constantly and she didn't believe when people said how beautiful she was, to me her description seem to me more of like Dolly Parton then on being over weight with a little pouch. She also thinks and acts like she is a loser, when she is far from it.So in conclusion the banters between characters are fun; the secondary characters even more so. From the transgender Aunt Teddy, to the too-hot-to-be-straight designer, Linc, this book had all the makings of a quirky modern day romance. So I give it a three star cause I wanted a PNR story and got a contemporary romance.
review 2: **Provided by Netgalley and Entangled Publishing, LLC for an honest review**This book has the trifecta - Sass, Sex and hot alpha males.I couldn't put this book down, literally , until it was finished. The author used some wicked lines that had me laughing out loud, much to the amusement of my husband.Nick seems for most of the book like any other nice guy, his vampness never really seems to stand out much in the big bad world. Casey on the other hand seems to one of the shy girls who never know how beautiful they are, either inside or out. Just seeing her imperfections like the rest of us do.The chemistry between them sizzles and, at times, I really did wish they would get it on already, and was so glad when they finally did. less
