review 1: This is one of my all-time favorite series. What I love about it most is that the first two books start at the beginning of a family saga and the third takes us to more modern times with their ancestors. What started with Caleb, Joshua and Sarah and also Adam, Warren and Amanda, follows through every book thereafter. The town they start to build on the foundation of love and acceptance, free to live and love as they chose without censure or ridicule becomes a haven for future generations. In more modern times the has thrived under the care of children, grand children, great grand children, etc. and also people who came to the town looking for safe haven of acceptance. I know these books are considered erotic because of the ménage theme but they are so much more. The love,... more acceptance, the sense of community, the way everyone bands together to take care of each other is what these books are really about. I know ménage lifestyles are considered taboo in todays society and really always have been for the most part but if life could emulate these books, what a wonderful, wonderful world we would live in. To my dying day I will forever wish and dream of living in a place like this. Not for the ménage lifestyle but for everything the town stands and the people who make the town what it is. I so look forward to reading more about the town and her residents. I have read 18 books so far and not a one has disappointed me. Thank you Cara for creating such a wonderful storyline.
review 2: Once I decided to just go with this one I enjoyed it. Part of my issues were that while set in the wild west the tone and phrasing seemed to modern, the other issue was how Sarah seemed to accept things too quickly.I did like how the three of them together and liked seeing Sarah become more aware of the world. I also liked seeing how the brothers friends were right there to help them out and didn't bat an eye at the way things were with them. I especially liked how things ended, mostly because the right person got theirs. less
