review 1: Sort of a murder mystery, takes place in Florida & the Bahamas. A disgraced cop tries to solve a murder & get off "roach patrol," or restaurant duty. The monkey in the title plays a very minor part, until the very end. I usually like Hiassen, but this one didn't grab me, it was a little too far-fetched, and even the heroes were't likable. The audio is performed by Arte Johnson; his accents are terrible. review 2: This novel was a fresh surprise for me. Not always a fan of fiction, I really enjoyed this crime novel. Full of satire and humor, I was in the hospital for same day surgery and brought this with me. The patients and nurses passing my bed were wondering why I was laughing out loud. The comical intrigue and wackiness of Yancy keeps the story moving a... morelong at a good pace. This has definitely makde me a Hiaasen fan. less
