review 1: "Romance or Mystery, Two Separate Books Preferred"I've had this book on my Kindle for a while and finally made a point to read it. I've read some of Author Carmen Desousa's other stories and liked them, but this story was too long and tedious. It starts off in the present with Jordan Monroe, a local police officer and also the owner of a successful construction company. Something wakens him from sleep and he can't tell whether he is hearing a gunshot nearby or one in a dream. His wife, Jaynee, is not at his side in bed, and it's way too early to arise. They've been rather distant from each other for a few months. She been staying up late studying for her last semester of college, then falling asleep on the sofa. Jordan loves his wife extremely passionately, but he is also ... morequite controlling. He cannot understand her aloofness toward him. He wonders if she could be having an affair? He's curious to know if she is sleeping on the sofa, even if they did have a rare sexual engagement earlier in the evening. When he goes downstairs, she is not on the sofa. He feels a breeze, the French doors to the patio are open. Jaynee's body is laying on the floor, a bullet to her forehead, a .38 caliber revolver beside her. She's still breathing, and he quickly dials 9-1-1. Jordan cannot believe she could possibly attempt suicide, she's worked so hard to finish college and will be soon graduating. But he does have deep concern as to what happened to change her attitude toward him. From here, the story swings back to their first meeting, the magnetic attraction they both feel for each other, and their Las Vegas wedding after four days of knowing each other. It's not until the reader is about 50 percent through the story that it comes back to the present time. But not for long, and it rapidly goes back to their earlier romance and marriage of 5 years. The writing is good, but the plot is not too well developed or focused on by the writer. I feel this should have been written as two separate stories. The first, the romance; the second the mystery. I'm not one who too often quits on a book, but I have to say after 50 percent, I did more scanning of the back story, picking out only to read the current story. Needless to say, for me, it was too much of a struggle to keep reading this book, it did not captivate me, except for the first chapter.
review 2: The suspense of this story starts right from the beginning. Caycee is a victim just waiting to be victimized…or is she? The author had us guessing throughout the book. On a normal day at work in the restaurant, handsome and controlling Jordan appears in her life – changes her name, rules her every move and because he falls in love at first sight, he rushes her to the alter. Caycee gets swept along with his dazzling personality and the romance. Not all is perfect though because she feels like she’s losing her will to her husband and has to fight to keep from disappearing altogether. Danger lurks in the form of her jailed ex’s buddy Kenny who stalks her in order to report back at the prison what the girl is up to. When he tells of her marriage, rage is born and finally breaks loose after her ex is released. This story keeps you on the edge following the hot romance and questioning what will happen next. I love books like this – in fact I loved this book!! Intrigue and passion all wrapped up in She Belongs to Me! less

The writing on this was a bit confusing to me. The story didn't catch my interests.

It was interesting, but there was too much setup and not enough closure at the end.
