review 1: Nothing makes me happier than when one of my favorite authors brings back some of my favorite characters for an encore book. In Greetings from Sugartown, that's just what Carmen Jenner did. Fast forward 3 years after the previous book. We meet up again with Ana and Elijah, who are still navigating their relationship. The ups and downs, twists and turns. There are old wounds and insecurities still haunting the couple from the past.Carmen has once again blown me out of the water with her quirky, funny and unique storytelling ability. There are not too many authors out there that have me almost p*ssing myself with laughter in one chapter and then crying the next. Well played, Carmen, well played.Greetings from Sugartown is another fabulous addition to this great series. I enj... moreoyed the hell out of it! Sexy, side-splitting laughter and a bit of a tear-jerker, this one was a winner! ~ Erin, 5 Stars~~~Oh hell YES! The Kinky Giant returns and damn, have I missed the tattooed, biker bad-boy... seriously, I've pondered on Elijah and his general, scorching hotness many, many times since I first read Welcome to Sugartown and (Jack and Holly's book) Enjoy Your Stay. Now, I have a new set of sexy visuals to accompany my reflection...It's been three years since Elijah Cade and Ana Belle become Sugartown's hottest couple. They've faced their demons, fought their pasts and now, Elijah's ready to make it official. But it's not that easy. Not with his skanky, ex-f*ck back in town, stirring shit up. Not with another fine-a*s biker showing up, asking for help. And, not with his attempts at getting down on one knee being interrupted—repeatedly (and hilariously). Ana and Elijah love each other, so it should be a clear path to the future, right? Wrong. Ana and Elijah want each other, so happily ever after should be right around the corner, right? Wrong. Will they get their fairytale ending or will it all fall apart?Carmen Jenner is a f*cking genius, in my opinion. She has once again managed to write a story that balances humor (hey Jack, I love you), tension, sexiness, sweetness and pain. Greetings from Sugartown hooked me from page one and kept me awake until 3 AM because I refused—flat-out REFUSED—to fall asleep wondering what was going to happen next.Ana and Elijah were perfectly on-point. I love their inability to keep their hands off each other—even when things look bleak. They are the same couple I fell for in book one, but they've clearly grown too. Sigh. But it wasn't just Ana and her ex-con, sexy-as-f*ck man that I fell for; I enjoyed catching up with favorites from the series, as well as new faces. It was like coming home...in more ways than one. The Aussie slang, references and humor made me want to whip out the Melway/Sydway/Brisway (whatever-way) and plot a route to this crazy town.I swooned. I cried. I laughed. I would—I will—read it all over again…literally, because sometimes one’s ponderings just aren't enough.Greetings from Sugartown is book 2.5 in the Sugartown series and should be read after experiencing the awesome of the previous installments. No cliffhanger. ~ Beth, 5 stars.
review 2: ★★★★★ BREATHTAKING STARSCarmen Jenner you have done it again!!!Greetings From Sugartown dives right into Ana & Elijah's relationship and the years that have past. I have to say while I always loved Elijah, I fell in love with a lot more. I got to see another of him but also loved how even though I felt Carmen brought out a softer side to him, he still had that bad boy biker appeal. You also see Ana still struggling with her demons and how it affects her relationship with Elijah. I ABSOLUTELY loved Greetings from Sugartown. There are definitely no dull moments in this story and a whole lot of Ana & Elijah loving and of course it wouldn't be the same without any "interesting Elijah & Ana moments" from them. Overall I LOVED LOVED LOVED this installment of the series and can't wait for more from the Always Lovely Miss Carmen Jenner. What can I say you Rocked My World with your awesome sense of storytelling. I was lucky enough to receive an ARC in exchange for an honest review. less
