SPOILERS!!!
Karen is about to make a drastic decision. She is going to rent a bedsit about an hour from her town because she thinks that if she doesn’t see William, her infatuation will fade away. Before she leaves, she tells Sophie. The young woman surprises when she guesses that there is something going on with the vicar, and for once we see Sophie showing sympathy when her stepmother confesses that it is so bad she has to leave.
I wonder if this will really be a solution. Maybe not seeing William in a while will backfire, and when she sees him again after a month or so, she will have longed for him so much that her feelings will even increase. Or maybe now that she has a place outside town, there is the danger that they can meet away from nosy parkers, and let themselves carried away
