review 1: I really wanted to like this, but it just didn't live up to expectations. The premise of the story had potential, but basic spelling and grammar mistakes - which were sadly abundant- were just too distracting. Multiple eye-rolls at the errors. Very poor vocabulary choices, as though the writer were trying to write beyond her skill-level (I am still trying to figure out how a waiter could "dematerialize" from a restaurant table at dinner...did he just turn into a vapor? And one line "smelled of roses and terror"... And terror smells like..what exactly? 2 small examples of many more glaring basic errors, misused and made-up words). Too much description of feelings, not enough illustration of them. Not a lot of sensory appeal. The third person alternating points-of-view didn'... moret work, and the character motivations were thin at best. I did like the male protagonist's family, though...the story had a glimmer of life then, and the few moments when things were good between the two main characters. Kept rehashing the same issues repeatedly, even at the stories climax. Failed story tension. Overall, just not appealing. Darn it.
review 2: This is my first time reading this author and do not know how I missed her books before but so glad have done so now. I say this because this author has a unique style all her own and this in romance makes for a book you best have time for because it is sure to be one that will not be easily put down to you reach the end. In this one the two main characters are Kelsey-who dates many but stays behind a wall of her own building too afraid to love and yearning for just that not trusting herself or those she encounters. Then there is Jared-Finding after meeting her the one for him but believes manipulation is the way to go as done in business but is it best for love. Amy her sister and long time friend Doug are also key to what brings these two together in what she thinks and he hopes not is a "momentary marriage" they enter into. Quick action soon to follow filled with fun loving delightful story line that goes with the scheme of things and the events that follow. You will find yourself one minute rooting for Jared the next saying all right Kelsey to what is wrong with the both of them they love each other and hurry and get it together. Anyways through it all it has an ending that is sure to please in this romance. less
