review 1: Carole Nelson Douglas is one of my favorite authors, and it pains me to mark any of her books as a "failed attempt." But the Delilah books rely so heavily on having read--and remembered all the details of--the previous entries that I just can't do it. The length of time between the books is too long, and I don't have the inclination to re-read the previous book whenever a new book is released. Regretfully, I must kiss this series goodbye.
review 2: Silver Zombie by Carole Nelson DouglasParanormal Romance –Nov. 30th, 20104 starsDelilah Street is a paranormal investigator that resides in Las Vegas. She has dealt with her fair share of vampires and werewolves. But now she has a big problem - an undead zombie celebrity named Lilith Quince who looks exactly lik
... moree Delilah. To solve the mystery, Delilah has to travel to Wichita, Kansas, the city where she was from to find out more about her past and her connection to Lilith Quince. In tow are her loyal wolfhound Quicksilver and her sexy boyfriend Ric Montoya.Do not attempt to read this book without reading the previous three books. Due to the large cast and rich background, if you (like me) have not read the series before, this book may seem overwhelming and a bit confusing. After a few re-caps from various websites, I was able to understand this book and appreciate the story. Delilah is a witty character with a distinctive voice that keeps the book entertaining. Ric seems a little too perfect for me, but he’s okay. The main draw is definitely Delilah. Her constant bantering with Ric and her inner monologues definitely liven up this book. This is a fun, zombie filled romp with an engaging main character. If you are a fan of urban fantasy with a wicked humor, you should definitely check this book out.Reviewed by Pauline from Bookaholics Romance Club less
