review 1: I’ve been a fan of Caroline B. Cooney since I was in elementary school, and I love that her books are still suspenseful and entertaining. Missy overhears a doctor on a TV show talking about twins separated at birth. Not long after, her biology class is required to pull off a scientific hoax as a project. Missy pulls her cousin Claire on board to pretend they are identical twins who just found each other. They present themselves on the high school’s televised morning announcements, and then the video goes viral. There wasn’t this much information on the back of the book and I loved going into it not knowing what was going to happen. Cooney is great at writing twisted family stories.
review 2: Cousins Missy and Claire pull a hoax that they're long lost iden
... moretical twins which winds up on YouTube. Twenty miles away, someone sends a third girl, Genevive the video, because she looks just like the cousins. Part predictable melodrama, part suspense novel, THREE BLACK SWANS is a quick read that will appeal to young adults interested in multiple births who don't mind predictability in their reading material. The girls are likable, and easy to root for, the plot is implausible and convoluted, but I still enjoyed the novel. less

I always want to like Caroline Cooney's books, but her stories are too melodramatic to appeal to me.

Really good and very suspenseful. Slightly distressing when you get to the end, though.
