review 1: I would have given this book 4 stars, but it started off really slow, with so many characters being introduced, that I almost abandoned it. The ending also felt abrupt and a bit anti-clamactic. That being said, the rest of the book was quite suspenseful, keeping me up past my bedtime because I had to know the truth behind the death of this family's father. Was foul play involved? Did the youngest child actually have a hand in the death? How much of what the aunt says is true? This would be a good book for middle schoolers who enjoy mystery/suspense and who are intrigued by reality television and its effects on those being filmed.

I'm genuinely not sure which genre this book was aiming to be or what, if any, big themes or ideas I should have gotten out of this, so that's kind of disappointing. I'm pretty sure that kind of stuff should be easy to spot right off the bat in a good book. Definitely wish we would have gotten to see more of the aftermath. less
