review 1: I was going to put this book down after a few chapters but kept reading and was glad I did. This is Carolyn Dingman's debut novel and it's a light read. At first, I thought it was a bit unrealistic..who comes into a new town and right away meets so many people willing to cart the protagonist, Olivia, and her niece, Logan, around town, etc. but maybe they do in small town Georgia where this is set. This book has an interesting plot but the characters tend to be a bit flat, but, overall, okay.
review 2: Carolyn T. Dingman is a refreshing new voice, and one I'm looking forward to hearing more from - a lot more. This book was a perfect collection of all the things I love most in my novels starting with a mystery in and about a small rural southern town. Dingman h... moreas a soft gentle way with descriptions, and a brilliant hand with dialogue. Olivia is a character I enjoyed spending time with. She made me laugh out loud and made me cry a few tears. I cheered for her right up to and through the last page. Highly recommended! less
