review 1: First I have to say that this book needs a damn good Editor to pick over the bones. The author has written a very good story with some great characters but the lack of punctuation and the poor grammar let it down. I would not recommend this book to asthmatics as you seriously will turn blue before getting to the end of a sentence!!But….I did like the blossoming romance between Rosie and Jackson. Their relationship wasn't an insta-love and their chemistry was believable. Rosie believed in romance whereas Jackson was your typical manwhore lol.I thought the secondary characters, Pippa and Rafe were great too and I hope to read more of them in the next book. This is a good romantic novel with little angst, which makes a change because usually there’s some outside forces try... moreing to split a couple up. In this book, the story is their romance, which was sweet. It was interesting watching Jack wooing Rosie, he didn’t seem to have ever wooed anyone before lol. These alpha men eh, women usually drop to their knees with very little effort involved for the men ;-)Roll on book 2
review 2: OK, I've had this series on my radar for a while now, and I finally amassed all the books in the series, and I decided to do a Mr. Write marathon! So book one sets the stage: Rosie is a writer of romance novels and her last book is a success, but she has writers block, and its no wonder with the last year that she has had. Rosie was stood up at the alter by her fiancé and she was humiliated; it has just about wrecked her self confidence and self worth. She and her best friend Pippa decide to go on a girls getaway to Thailand, as she has picked up a tourist guide written by Jackson James (who is also represented by the same publisher that she uses). He makes it sound so enchanting that she can't wait. It is on the plane to Thailand that Rosie formally meets Jackson, who is working on assignment, and nothing will ever be the same for either of them.Jackson is a gorgeous guy, who has the reputation of being a player who is never with the same woman twice; all his mates (yes, I picked up on the British lingo, lol), thinks that he is living the good life. Little do they know, he has closed himself off emotionally because he too has been truly hurt by love. Of course, there is a undeniable chemistry between Rosie and Jackson and things neither of them wants or expects starts to happen. The plot of this story is wonderful and well thought out. The supporting characters are just as amazing and as important as Rosie and Jackson, and as the reader, I want to know more about each one: Pippa, Rosie's best girlfriend and beautiful wild child; Rafe, Rosie's hottie and supportive gay brother; Matthew, Rafe's handsome partner, who is a successful personal trainer and the twin brother of Michael, Rosie's ex-fiancé. So you see, so much is going on and I can't wait to see where my journey on this marathon will lead me, but something tells me I need to strap in for a wild, crazy, angsty ride. less
