About three years ago, I read a Theresa Palmer interview in some magazine. I didn’t know it then, but it would send me down a path that would ultimately change my life forever.
In the article, Theresa discussed how she manifested her ideal man – now-husband, Mark Webber. She wrote down a list of attributes that, for her, were non-negotiable, utilised rose quartz (crystal of love & romance) and sure enough, three months later he came along. At the time I wasn’t interested in the idea of using the Law of Attraction to find love (although later it would push me to end my then-relationship), but it did light a spark inside. A quick ‘manifesting’ google search, and I was hooked. With similarities to religion and extensive ties to ancient history, the principles of the Law of Attraction have been passed down through the centuries by famous philosophers (Socrates, Plato) and is believed to be one of the Universal Laws of Nature.
For a long time I was entranced by this idea that you could have literally anything you wanted, just by ‘asking The Universe’. It seemed to good to be true. But then when I actually started to try to practise the law, I realised that while eventually the benefits may be amazing, it’s a fucking buttload of work. Practising gratitude is one of the main principles of the Law of Attraction, along with re-programming your subconscious mind, affirming language, and unshakeable belief. It’s a difficult, long process and for me it pretty much meant uprooting my entire life, clearing everything out and completely starting over.
Fast forward a year, I’m not sure if I’ve really ever truly manifested anything, but I’ve decided I don’t really care if I don’t end up with material things. Practising the LOA has given me something far more valuable – happiness, joy, peace, love, gratitude and safety in the knowledge that The Universe has got my back.
I’ve put some links down here if you’re interested in reading more about it (which I would recommend because it’ll seriously change everything for you):
