review 1: Despite the length of this book (well into novel territory), it still read it as if it were a novella or even a short story. There is not much character development, but it doesn't really feel necessary in a story that has the momentum of a short. I appreciated how the author didn't feel the need to make her MC perfect. In fact, Eric's past sexual exploits (which can be described as unwise at best and downright immoral/stupid at worst) almost push you to the edge of disliking him. Still, you're willing to forgive him ;) As an aside, I actually gawked and laughed out loud when the author mentioned Seneca Falls and Geneva. I grew up in Seneca Falls! Graduated from Mynderse Academy High School and everything! I understand that's a personal boon for me, but when you aren't fro... morem NYC or LA or something, it's a real shock to see your own little hamlet as the setting in a book. So, kudos to Cat Grant. Go Mynderse Blue Devils!!!! ;) lol
review 2: I didn't realize when I started this, it was a whole series spanning over 20 years, till the end , ended as it did in book 1 of a 5 book series! Eric , I dislike period, not sure if I want to jump to next book, because for 1 I see, he's going to end up being a bigger douchbag than he already is, and keep breaking Nick's heart! And this turns into a ménage ? How is that going to work on Nick's heart?? less
