review 1: Super quick book to read with two neat characters: Ryan, a soldier and Vicki a journalist. Both in Afghanistan. Ryan, screen name Groundpounder, had a military blog (milblog) that Vicki frequented and they left notes to each other full of flirting an sexual innuendos. One thing lead to another and Vicki is on assignment in Afghanistan when she ends up staying in the same tent as Ryan. While he figured out right away that she was Vicki V. from his blog, she didn't know who he was. Circumstances brought them together much faster than would normally have occurred and the romance was tender. This is not an erotic book; nor was it "hot." I've read more "steam" in a mainstream book, so... The book also had a subplot running through it. Prince Harry was also stationed at ... morethe same small base the story took place. There was a minor suspenseful moment which tied this to the Task Force Zeta series. One of the characters David "Hawk" Hawkins, the model from an earlier Task Force Zeta is in this and a small bit is mentioned about Emily; other than this series having brief mentions of Task Force Zeta, they can be read as stand alones.
review 2: I really enjoy the sweet, sexy military romances by Cat Johnson. I always love the characters, the men are sweetly protective, the pace is usually fast, and the endings always put a smile on my face. And the love scenes, although not explicit, are usually hot. This latest book, "A Prince Among Men", was no exception.Sgt. Ryan Pettit is an Army soldier stationed in Afghanistan, and he writes a popular daily internet blog (using the screen name "Groundpounder") describing the everyday life of a soldier. His writing is witty (with Jimmy Buffet song references) yet informative, and he has a female fan known as Vicki V who often replies to his blog. Vicki is highly complimentary and lately her replies have been filled with some double entendres. Ryan is flattered, finds her amusing yet sexy, and flirts back. And although Ryan's got a casual girlfriend back at the base in Germany, he sure would like to meet this Vicki V (even though she's probably somebody's grandmother), but what are the odds of that happening?Vicki Vanover is an American journalist working out of London. She's on her way to an assignment in Afghanistan, hoping to write a story about how the lives of women in Afghanistan have changed since the defeat of the Taliban. Well, after 2 weeks in Kandahar and getting nowhere fast on her story, Vicki has a stroke of luck when she has a chance meeting with a very familiar looking soldier. It's none other than the Army's latest reluctant poster boy, Staff Sgt. David "Hawk" Hawkins ("Model Soldier"). Vicki basically blackmails him into helping her find some Afghan locals to interview by threatening to write a story about him and his modeling "career" if he doesn't cooperate. Hawk reluctantly agrees to bring her back to his base in Kabul province, where she will have a chance to interview some locals. And guess who just happens to be Hawk's bunkmate? Yes, Vicki's secret "crush", "Groundpounder" Ryan Pettit.Having recently been dumped by his German girlfriend, it doesn't take long for Ryan to fall for the voluptuos Vicki, and put two and two together and realize she's actually THE Vicki V of his dreams. But when will he tell her he's "Groundpounder"? And can Ryan convince Vicki that his affair with her is the real thing, and not just that she's the only available woman for miles around? But when things go bad and Ryan and his team and a couple of British soldiers (including one real life very famous one) are ambushed and then kidnapped, will Vicki have the strength to stand by him, or will the constant worry for a man who puts his life on the line every day be too much for her to handle?I just loved Ryan--he was so sweet and sexy, and said some beautiful things to Vicki and did some wonderful things to prove his love for Vicki. I felt like he was the real "prince" in the title. I loved getting glimpses of what he was thinking but didn't say--some of it was very funny. And I liked Vicki too. At first she came across as a real girly girl who had no business being in a war zone, but after a while she toughened up and came through for Ryan. And their love scenes were really hot, and they somehow found ways to be together in not the most ideal of circumstances.Fans of the series will enjoy getting a glimpse of some members of Task Force Zeta again, who make a rescue attempt of a very famous soldier near the end of the book. All in all a very quick, easy read. If you enjoy reading books in the style of Suzanne Brockmann's Navy SEALs, Cherry Adair's T-FLACs, or even Cindy Gerard's Bodyguards, I think you would enjoy the military romances of Cat Johnson. For me, they're always a good time. 4 1/2 stars. less

Great addition to the Red,Hot, and Blue series. Sweet and funny, but also gritty and suspenseful.
