review 1: Usual formula: damaged but devastatingly handsome millionaire meets lovely, bright and yet still somehow naive woman. Instant attraction, back and forth until explosive sex that turns kinkier and outside world influences always rear an ugly head. Did I mention the hero also has to dress the heroine in suitable expensive clothing? This time we have Dominick and Kate. His company needs forensic accounting tech help and that's Kate who is great at business and a little inept in her personal life. Before the first book ends, she's fallen under Dominick's spell and confesses to him she's in love. He is drawn to a woman for the first time since his wife died and maybe he is even more attracted to Kate. His kinky past complete with pictures drives her away but Dominick can't let g... moreo that easily.
review 2: I don't know what to say about this book. I reminded me so much of another series and I hate saying that. But seriously there were specific lines in this book that sounds like they were directly taken from that other series and plopped down into this one. Once I quit letting that bother me and tried to enjoy this book, it got a little better. For me was this a great book? No. Would I consider a reread? Probably not. Do I want to finish the series? Yes, but more because I have access to the rest of the series that because I'm dieing to find out what happens next. It does end with things sort of in limbo, but not some crazy omg what happens next cliffhanger. I don't like how Katherine was all strong and hard headed and then caved so quickly-and not just once. Many times. Is she strong? Was the strong just an act? Was it just Dominick's allure and control and unwillingness to not get his way? Almost the entire book took place in other countries. While this idea seems great, for the most part it didn't seem like it was another country other than the descriptions of everything being "Victorian" which I didn't realize Hong Kong had a victorian era... less
