review 1: Swoon, thought Conner in the first book was awesome, but Lex...? Sigh. Don't want to give anything away... This book picks up a few months after the last one. Ivie is still recovering from the trauma from being kidnapped by vampires, staying with her friend Donna who was turned in the previous book... Hot alpha males, humor, great action packed, sexy storyline.... As with all her books loved loved loved it, sad to see it end. Looking forward to the next one in the series.... Finn?
review 2: Ivie has been tortured by vampires in the past but just like humans, there are some good & some bad. Lex is a very old vampire & he has set his eyes on Ivie. Ivie is a modern woman though & Lex has some old fashioned ways, often leaving her for long stretches of time... more & she is just expected to wait for him? Apparently so because when he returns out of the blue he gets extremely jealous if some other man captures her attention. But the attraction for Ivie is the dominant vibe Lex is constantly giving off & sure enough, he has a dungeon with lots of toys to pleasure a girl like Ivie! He is into the whole BDSM punishment stuff & Ivie likes it!! Other supernatural beings are introduced in this book & I'm not sure if that makes this series better or more confusing. I did like that Ivie seems to have some powers of her own, the weak little human girl that she appears to be. The vampire backstory is a little boring & I skimmed through those parts of the book to get to the hot action between Ivie & Lex. They grow strong feelings for each other & come to an understanding about how much Lex appreciates Ivie for the woman that she is, that he wants to protect her at all costs but doesn't consider her weak at all. less
