review 1: This was a quick & fun read about forbidden romance in the work place. The characters were likeable, the story was entertaining, the angst was minimal and the sex was hot. My only hangup was that I really wanted more from these characters.This is a standalone novella that introduces the reader to the Not Safe For Work series which according to the author's note will include additional standalone novels for the characters we met in this story. While this was my first book from this author, it will not be my last as I would like to continue with this series. I am curious about the characters we briefly met in this book and would like to see the a more developed story from this author.
review 2: This was a sweet quick story. Lucy has worked for Chris for three yea... morers as his personal assistant. She's finally selling some of her photographs and making money where she can quit her job and follow her dream of becoming a photographer. However, Chris starts making it obvious he's interested in her. At first she denies he has feelings for her, but Chris makes it very clear what his intentions are. He's extremely hot.I loved Chris! He's sweet, bossy, caring and protective. Everything he said and did towards Lucy melted my heart a little more. However, honestly, I didn't like Lucy. I tried. I really, really tried. But I personally could not stand her. She's selfish, immature, stubborn and rude. There is no way a boss would put up with her attitude and smart mouth without firing her. She showed Chris no respect whatsoever. He invited her to dinner and she acted like a brat. Then he paid for said dinner and she stormed out the restaurant. He tells her he loves her and she stares at him in disbelief. She leaves in the middle of the night and worries him, and then she gets mad because he was concerned. Total B!$&).We're almost led to believe that Lucy had some life changing relationship that made her scared of commitment. Unfortunately we are never given details. Only told she's protected her heart for four years. Lucy aside, Chris is great. He along with the other characters in the story made it a good book. Others will like Lucy's character I'm sure, I just dint care for her.Quick read, standalone with happy ending. less
