review 1: I enjoyed this book I didn't love it. I feel really odd about that though. I liked the first book so much better, and it was about half the length! I normally want so much more in a story that I'm surprised I liked the shorter one better.Charles and Yancy had a rocky start-she even complains about his in Lucy's book. I loved how once they got past their rocky start things went so well. I loved the he protected her especially from Cooper and took care of her. I think in some ways he seemed a little too "not alpha" for me to fully appreciate him. I thought Chelsea's book would be next after reading Lucy's but I was wrong. So, it seems like Tracey's would be next after reading this one...but maybe it will be Grier. Chelsea was barely in this book.
review 2: So thi
... mores is the second book in the Not Safe For Work (NSFW) Series by C.C. Wood, and I had high expectations since I loved In Love With Lucy. As you can see from that review, I was hoping that the second book in this series would be about Grier, but to my surprise, it was about Yancy. A divorcee with a manipulative ex-husband named Cooper who suddenly reappeared after the federales coming after him for child support. Thank goodness that Yancy opened her heart to her co-worker Charles. Here are my random thoughts on this book in no particular order:#1 I love how Charles was the complete opposite of Cooper. Where Cooper was an asshole, Charles was endearing. Where Cooper could care less about his daughter Carolena, Charles fell in love with the adorable tot immediately.#2 Speaking of Charles, how adorable is he that Bella’s Lullably was his ringtone. How adorable was he that he liked romantic comedies. I loved how much he adored his family and Yancy (+Carolena). How adorable was he that he called her Nancy instead of Yancy. (Okay, Yancy may disagree).#3 I applaud Yancy for being open to love again. I’m happy she wasn't a bitter divorcee. She was hesitant but not resistant to Charles. #4 I once again loved the friendship/sisterhood between the girls, and now I want to know more about Tanya. I swear each book I find a new girl to love. LOL!#5 Charles and Yancy together were the perfect match, and as you guessed, a happily ever after was predictable. #6 Easy, breezy story with very relatable characters. This story wasn't fantastical. Quite believable. Outside of a crappy ex, there was no drama. #7 Between you and me, I prefer Book #1 in this series, but this follow-up wasn’t too bad. I didn’t love it, but I did enjoy it. On a scale of 1-5, I’ll give it 3.75 stars. P.S. I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review. less
