review 1: This book held my interest for the lesson it was trying to teach. At this point I have not decided if I will continue reading the series located in other cities and states. It was nice to read the story located in an area I am familiar with and shows how business in a small town can be tough as well as a great competition. This story also shows how love can be right in front of you without you knowing it right away. This is a book I would recommend for light reading but definitely not a book that sucks you and makes you forget you are reading.
review 2: Sadie moves back to her home town after her husband passes away. She takes care of her Mom with cancer until she goes to heaven. Then her best friend, Jasper, helps her take care of Kylie, her 4 going on 5 yea... morer old daughter. Sadie has gotten used to having Jasper around. She has grown comfortable with him. but then a Russian starts coming to the restaurant she manages and she gets shook up and becomes very competitive.So competitive that when there is a dessert contest she enters even though she fails at all desserts she tries to make. She is an excellent chef but no good at desserts. This is one portion of the book. Also you got to read about Kylie and her volcano. It is so funny it will keep you chuckling. It will also remind you of how young children take things different than adults. Sadie's Dad shows up and Sadie has a hard time giving him a second chance. Then she gets to a place herself where she needs a second chance. This book will relax you, cause you to laugh, and learn to enjoy life. less
