Yesterday, 2pm, the official opening of our 2017 major exhibition, and what a turnout we had. A glorious day, a crowd of people, drinks & nibbles aplenty and an outstanding array of artworks.
Our exhibition committee have produced an outstanding event which is already drawing the crowds, and visitor comments couldn’t be any more positive.
Left (from left to right): Angela Marynissen and Louise Gilchrist, who took on the responsibility of organising and running the exhibition. Zoë Sadokierski, President of the Australian Book Designers Association and Senior Lecturer at the School of Design, University of Technology, Sydney, who kindly agreed to open the exhibition for us.
Missing from the photo is Tamsin Salehian who very kindly hung the exhibition and deserves our huge thanks. It could not have been done better.
Here are a few photos we managed to get before the crowds descended. Even though the pieces look fabulous the pictures really can’t capture the tactile components, the fragility of some pieces, the layers of imagery and some of the sculptural aspects. You need to get yourself along to The Palm House, Royal Botanic Gardens, Sydney, to see them in the flesh (so to speak).
