review 1: I found this book very interesting. However *spoiler alerts* some things didn't add up. Why didn't anyone, especially the College president, get Henry some mental help for the love of God?! In addition I felt it was just a depressing book. The characters were shallow. The "racial diversity" inclusion of characters was stereotypical. I don't like baseball but in some parts of the book, found the game exciting.
review 2: This book was...incredible. The story was great and I truly appreciated the baseball theme. But my real love for this book comes from the character development. Every character in this book was so beautifully written and I truly and deeply cared about all of them. I could have read a number of subsequent books following the live... mores of the characters - I was so invested. They were all so REAL and flawed and lovable. Very moving. less
