review 1: This was a great sequel to the Iron Butterfly. I enjoyed that other plots developed within the story and the focus was not all about the main character. I wish she would go ahead and make a choice about her love live. Lol. I am also glad that many of the questions are being answered about here past, and she is remembering intermittently. Great follow up to the first book. It did seem that she had a few too many tantrum like episodes. She seemed a little immature in this book when dealing with various situations.
review 2: The second book in the series is just as fast a read as the first. I pretty much have the same issues with the unrealistic dialogue, Team Unsure Hate versus Team Handsome Googly Eyes competing for our heroine's affections, and the same tired ... moreI'm weak, no I'm strong, no I'm weak, no I'm strong theme our protagonist constantly goes back and forth with. The antagonists, name one woman in particular, just don't live up to human behavior. A person known to hate your very being with every ounce of their energy would not be chuckling and trying to hide their laughter at your cutesy joking while they are bound as a prisoner. I'm sorry, but that just won't happen.That said there are also redeeming qualities of this story. An interesting new city and new characters. Further development of the story, the hows, the whys, and the whats. So it served it's purpose in furthering the story, but that's about it. I have to remind myself that just because something is a very quick and easy read, doesn't mean it's a 4-5 star book. I almost fall into that trap every time I read such an easy book. less
