review 1: Barbie gave me this book to read as a light, enjoyable read. Set in London at the time of the great fire, it follows the life of a young woman in an arranged marriage whose wealthy, merchant husband loses everything in the fire. Forced onto the streets, she survives through cunning and luck. The plot holds you but it is very predictable and more of a bodice ripper than historical fiction, it was a quick but pretty forgettable read.
