review 1: REVIEWIt was dark. A storm had just put the lights out. Miriam Lantz has provided for herself and her daughters since her husband's death. She is the owner of Sweet Seasons Bakery in Willow Ridge, MO. Miriam is a good cook and I could almost smell and taste the bakery goods. A little added bonus in the book was the Recipe section. Wonderful. She has been trying to shun away from the Bishop Knepp. He was just so pushy. As I read, I just hoped she wouldn't give in. A storm blows through Willow Ridge and what was left was a smithy wagon and Ben Hooley. A relationship between Ben and Miriam cause Bishop Knepp's temper to surge.Ben was so glad he had met Miriam. The only thing is Ben didn't care for the fact that the Bishop was pushing Miriam for a relationship. I just want... moreed to reach out and snatch the Bishop by his neck and ask him if he forgot how to behave. Ben and his two brothers decide to follow the Lord's lead and establish themselves in Willow Ridge. Miriam decides to sell a parcel of land to Ben. This causes the Bishop to become even more riled. The people of Willow Ridge have decided they like Ben and they let that be known at the Sunday service. Ben's two aunts decide to settle in the town also. Will the aunts have any affect on the Bishop? Will things that the Bishop has been doing come forth into the open? Will the town of Willow Ridge ever be the same? Will Ben and Miriam wed or will the Bishop win her over? I was hoping the whole time that the Bishop would be shunned. I wanted Ben and Miriam to be together. Ms. Hubbard gave us a wonderful Amish read. The book brings a peacefulness to your heart. A good clean read. The author takes the reader through many twists and turns. You can't put the book down. It definitely has your attention. You just keep turning those pages and you don't want it to end. The author leaves with you the hope that love is just around the corner. I would recommend this book to anyone that likes to see justice done even if it is a Bishop that needs justice laid on him. If you like a clean, peaceful read than try Ms. Hubbard's books. You can't go wrong.I would give this book 5 STARS.I was given a complimentary copy of AUTUMN WINDS by Charlotte Hubbard from Manic Reviews for this honest review.
review 2: "Autumn Winds" is the second book in the "Seasons of the Heart" series from author Charlotte Hubbard. In the picturesque Amish community of Willow Ridge, Missouri, widowed Miriam Lantz operates the Sweet Seasons Bakery Cafe, where the food is seasoned with heaping helpings of love and faith. During an Autumn storm, the winds of fate bring an injured stranger to Miriam's door, and life will never be the same for the widow Lantz. Ben Hooley, a traveling blacksmith, is hurt by his horse when it is startled during the turbulent storm. Miriam assists him, allowing him inside the bakery to recover. But will Miriam recover from the effect Ben has on her heart? He's a little younger than she is, and she never thought she would feel this way again, but there's a higher power guiding this romance. Ben is immediately smitten with Miriam, finding her the sweetest of the sweets in the sweet shop. Complicating matters for Miriam and Ben are her triplet daughters and a bothersome bishop in hot pursuit of Miriam's hand in marriage. Written with warmly inviting charm, "Autumn Winds" serves up food for thought and also feeds the romance lover's soul. As an added extra treat for readers, there is a downright delicious bonus recipe section included in the book. Recommended! Review Copy Gratis Library Thing less
