review 1: I haven't read the other books in the series, but it didn't detract from the story or my enjoyment. It was a sweet love story and I will probably read the next one to see what happens with one of the male leads. Elliot's journey of self-forgiveness is so relatable. I also liked the humility Abigail had about her ability to attract men. Cory fits the part of a lawman to a T and the other supporting characters all add fun quirky parts to the story.
review 2: Winter Promise is the third book in the Seasons of Heart trilogy and probably my favorite one so far! You don’t have to read the other two books in order to enjoy and understand Winter Promise but it will make it more fun if you do.Abigail is ready to be on her own and making a mark on society so she ventu
... moreres to Texas to meet up with her brother Daniel and his wife Kate in hopes of starting a library. She was given a good inheritance from a grandparent and can’t think of anything better than to start a library in a small newly developed town. As soon as she arrives she meets two of the most alluring men she’s even seen; the charming deputy Cory Muldoon and the quiet and reserved Doc Elliott. She had no intentions of moving to Texas to find a beau but she can’t seem to stop thinking about these two men.I really enjoyed most everything about this story. The characters that Martha Rogers creates are always delightful and deep and just love them. Abigail is great; she is stubborn, spunky, tiny little women that his big dreams and has such a tender heart. Another great character is Elliott. He reminds me so much of a lot of Christians that have walked away from their faith. He struggles to understand why a loving God lets bad things happen and he is filled with guilt. Yet he has a great heart! The best part of this story besides seeing the Muldoon and Monroe families again and reuniting with their lives is seeing how God healed and restored Elliott. Amazing story here!! My only complaint is the lack of romance development until the end, I just wish there was more kissing and more romance sooner. Thank you to the publishers through FIRST Wild Card Tours that gave me this free book in exchange for my personal and honest opinion. All opinions are my own. less
