review 1: Izzy is on a mission to exorcise the demon of her cheating ex-boyfriend. She has a plan - put together with her friends and a generous amount of wine - she has the hotel, a willing participant in the shape of gorgeous solicitor Oliver, but does she has the nerve to follow through on a no-strings-attached one night stand? This was a great romantic novella. Izzy is a character that is instantly likeable, someone you can sympathise with but is also funny and down to earth. I really like how she was determined to move on and how, despite the knock to her ego, she was still confident and independent. Oliver was harder to warm to but by the end also came across as more than he at first appeared. They had genuine chemistry, work ethics that gave them common ground and a believable... more development to their relationship that I was pleasantly surprised could be squeezed into the short length of the novella. An entertaining and very enjoyable read. I will definitely be looking out for more of Charlotte Phillips work.
review 2: This is a great book, especially if you have a few hours to spare one evening or are whiling your time away whilst on holiday.Izzy and Oliver were polar opposites at the beginning of the book, meeting quite by chance, and with completely different outlooks on life and relationships in general. I really enjoyed reading the changes between them as they spent more time together, and got to know about each other more. I only wish that their book has a sequel as I would love to see how their relationship continues to develop. This is the first book I have read by Charlotte Phillips, but I will certainly be looking out for future releases, as I like her style of writing. Its fun, familiar and pulls you in easily. I was lucky to be provided with a copy of this book through Netgalley, and in thanks i have provided the above honest review. less
