review 1: Well written mystery that has the added twist of a dead cop trying to assist in finding the murderer. Though he screwed up in life, Kevin Fahey has discovered some profound truths/insights while musing how and why he's still anchored to the earth plane. In this one, he tries to help his earthbound partner to find the murderer of a well-liked nurse while consecutively also trying to find a four-year old boy who was abducted from a park across the street from the murder scene.
review 2: I read the first in this series last year and was really impressed with it. Sometimes sophomore efforts are a bit lacking when the first in a series is a home-run....that's definitely NOT the case with this book! These books are much more about the characters, particularly "the ... moreDead Detective" Kevin Fahey. He was a lousy husband, father, cop & man when he was alive, but he seems to have been given a chance at redemption now that he's no longer among the living. This book dealt with some very dark subject matter, but was truly an excellent read. Even giving a look at what might be waiting for the "monsters" that walk among us when their time is up. less
