review 1: Overly simplistic. It's as if the author read books in this genre by other authors (Dan Brown being the most well-known, but there are other talented names out there) and wrote down the plot points.Completely unrealistic and childish behavior by all parties. The author would do well to talk to people with relevant experience to learn how agents (FBI, Secret Service, British Intelligence) do their work.
review 2: "The Lost Journal" was only a 2-star for me until the twist at the end bumped it up a notch. Ninety per cent of the book was like a National Treasure flashback, but the ending really was a nice touch. It's worth the read, especially if you're a big National Treasure fan. Now if Mr. Blewitt can write a whole book as interesting as the ending of this one,
... more we'll all be waiting in line to buy it. Don't give up, Chris; I think you can do it!There is one part of this story, no doubt innocently included, but that should be offensive to anyone who understands the real situation in the medical world. There are many young people suffering from liver disease not caused by alcohol or drugs who are desperately in need of liver transplants to remain alive and to be relieved of terrible suffering. To have an elderly man with liver disease caused by alcohol and still drinking heavily elevated to the top of the available liver list by anyone including the President is a travesty, not a victory. less

Enjoyed the historical details of the Civil War. Relationships develop too fast for belief, though.
