review 1: REVIEWED FOR PRISM BOOK ALLIANCE3.75 StarsGeorge was settled in his life and almost a confirmed bachelor up until a year ago when he met the love of his life and his mate Billy. George is a wolf shifter and sometimes a fox shifter and although his father is Alpha he has no interest in the pack preferring to live a quiet and more private life.Billy is younger than George and full of energy. He is a fox shifter and also a squirrel shifter. The flamboyant young man is known for his diva moments and his hatred of snow.George has always known that his father expects him to one day become Alpha. Recently the pressure has been mounting but George has stood steadfast in his denial of the request. When outside forces push for a change in leadership George is torn between what he ... morewants to do and what he feels he should do. The most important thing to him is keep his much smaller mate safe. This book was a new take for me on shifter stories in that they each had 2 animal forms. It made for an interesting read. I loved when Billy was a squirrel and was squeaking all over the place when having one of his diva tantrums. With Georges father newly mated we find that magic is not always the answer and the outcome will change George and Billys lives considerably. With added responsibility and even more to worry about George has to make the decision on whether he can stand up and achieve what he was always destined to be or whether stands back and loses everything he loves.
review 2: This is a sweet, syrupy love story. The story starts with an established couple. The author made a bit of an error for me in the beginning by dumping me into a story already underway. It took some time for me to "find my feet" with the plot/story line. The characters are super cute and soooo in love. It was a little over the top but sweet. The whole of the plot line seemed to be the two finding their true place in the world. The whole of the book was super shallow. I felt like there really was something missing in the book because of this. Still the author did a good job of making me like the characters and their little world. The story was a cute little read that made for a really good "comfort" type story. less

The idea was good. Prone story's pacing and dialogue were not.
