review 1: I found this quite good for a YA novel. I also like the narrative style, although I know quite a few people don't, and may find this particularly annoying in this story. One thing I will say, which was glaringly obvious, was the awful editing. The wrong words were used which I expect came from the spellchecker, there weren't enough commas, so with some sentences I had to re-read them to make sense. I also seriously despise the useless 'though' patched onto the end of a sentence, especially without a preceding comma. The story was reasonably enjoyable, and I will try the next novel.
review 2: I accidently read #2 first, but went back and read this one. Thankfully, it did fill in some of the gaps.I found Lexi a little too immature in this book, which I guess is
... morea good thing - she does grow throughout the story/stories. I somehow managed to not write a review right away, so I've forgotten a lot since I finished :(.Although this book does contain some cliches (parents hiding huge secrets from their kids), society being completely oblivious to things, etc, the author does offer some kinda plausible explanations for the sudden changes Lexi goes through. What I dislike the most is the differences are mostly physical - acne gone, she's skinny, and her hair is nicer (or something along those lines). less
