review 1: This book started out very haltingly, with some awkward prose and dialogue. However, as the story went on, the writing got more assured and the plot swept me up. There were some surprisingly deep and affecting interactions between the lovers. The sex scenes were very hot and inventive. All in all, I ended up thoroughly enjoying myself, even after a rocky start. I'm looking forward to reading the other two books in the series.
review 2: Initially the book started quickly however the middle section slowed down. Overall the pace of the book was good. One thing about the book was Rafe proposing as I didn't understand his logic why he suddenly decided to propose. It may have been the stress of the life and death situation however the leap of logic just didn't make
... moresense. He doesn't have to mulled it over but understanding where he comes from would make a difference. It seemed rushed and forced. less

Not a bad book. Didn't expect that person to be involved. Gonna read the next book in the series.
