Entheogen, quieten my clunky, glacial thought process!

I remember reading the account of a psychonaut’s ‘trip’ a while ago and it really piqued my interest.

The gist of it was that this character was enjoying himself at a party after imbibing a psychedelic substance. All the people around him seemed pleasant and friendly. There was hustle and bustle all around, but suddenly things began to slow.

The scene in front of him became slower and slower until his vision came to a complete stand still. He reports feeling a sort of blast inside his head and for a short time he couldn’t see a thing. When his vision came back the scene in front of him was still frozen.

Then he noticed a strange movement on the wall opposite him. His fellow party goers remained like statues, motionless. The only movement was on this wall which seemed to be opening as though a secret door had lain hidden. He watched the door slowly open and was astounded to see two figures emerging, they appeared small with pointed ears and pointed noses almost as though they had stepped, goblin like, from a book of fairy tales.

They seemed casual and perfunctory, as though caretakers cleaning up after a gathering. He relates that it was only when they saw him that their manner changed. They appeared shocked that he could see them and quickly disappeared back through the door.

Obviously we can’t extrapolate anything too substantial from such a subjective tale, but i do find this idea of seperate worlds operating at different speeds, very interesting.

The accidental witness to the discontinuous nature of time, realises that the frozen space between moments is populated by the bustling manifestations of the much faster ‘world 24’!

I imagine interaction between such worlds would be extremely difficult. There are very real barriers of perception to be surmounted.

In this tale it may not have been the world slowing, but conversely the observer speeding up; Their awareness may have latched on to a much faster part of themselves.
Our glacial, clunky, automatic thought processes that belong to ‘world 48’ grind to a halt, either by our own effort to still the mind or having it stilled for us via the use of entheogens.
This allows our awareness to nestle in the part of ourself that belongs to the less constrained ‘world 24’.

In this world things appear and comunicate instantaneously. To all intents and purposes outside of time.

This sort of heightened awareness may be akin to a sportsperson entering the ‘zone’. There is always enough time to complete what needs to be done. The task flows effortlessly as if guided by a higher force. The sportsman may mistake access to this freer, less constrained world, as god and praise ‘his’ benevolence.

(being grateful is certainly not a bad thing though)
