review 1: Another enjoyable read. I found the publishing side of the story more interesting than the romance side, which is funny because the fact that it was a romance is what attracted me to the book. One gets the impression that the author is familiar with the backdoor politicking and drama that goes with publishing, and if she doesn't then she does a good job at faking it for the layperson. The romance side of the story is fairly predictable and unimaginative, but I may be biased as love triangles aren't really my thing.I'm curious to read book three though.
review 2: The second book in The Publicist series jumps right in where book one left off, with Kate juggling high profile author antics and putting out fires as they threaten to consume her. The story moves forw... moreard quickly, bringing even more drama and higher stakes. Not only is Kate faced with a scandal that might end her career, but she’s also forced to choose between two men who both make her feel loved and desired.The love triangle in SHELF LIFE gets emotional and I found myself torn between Kate choosing sweet and reliable Nick, or charming and highly desirable Mac. The best written love triangles leave the reader torn between each side, and SHELF LIFE delivers. I didn’t envy Kate for having to make the decision! SHELF LIFE has all of the behind-the-scenes glimpses into the world of book publishing that readers loved in the first book, along with new characters that readers will both love and love to hate. The novel is a fast-paced, fun look at publishing and promotion that will leave you wanting more. less
