review 1: I enjoyed this novel very much, but I think the author needs to change the summary. I'm all for giving a back story, but there was no mention of Jilly becoming a bride until halfway through the novel. I don't know what lavish television wedding the summary is talking about, because there wasn't one in this story. The summary aside, I loved Jilly and Walker. There stories were unique and the development of their relationship was heartwarming. Winslow, Walker's dog, was a wonderful supporting character.
review 2: This book was just okay to me. The romance was sweet at times but some parts of the story just felt strange. I liked Jilly and I liked how she tried to pick herself back up after suffering a heart attack and learning that she had to make a complete life
... morestyle change. I also liked Walker and his dog Winston but Walkers character felt a little incomplete. He was a marine and at times that seemed to be the complete description of his character and then he changed from a stoic unsocial man into one who knows everyone in town and loves talking to everyone. The forced wedding felt weird for the story and the arguments for why they should pretend to be married made were ridiculous. The whole scheme felt like a way to get the characters together without too much imagination. Jilly and Walker went into the fake wedding knowing it was meant to be annulled right after and yet right after it happened they both acted like it was a real wedding. Jilly getting so mad when realizing that Walker is actually the son of a wealthy senator and leaving the wedding was just an attempt to add drama and I felt that her reaction was overblown. Overall it was an easy lighthearted read but the storyline wasn't great and the hero's characteristics kept changing too much for my liking. less

The pace was just too slow for me. I tried but could only get to the coffee scene.
