review 1: Disappointing, I expected an engaging novel with good characters but I felt the book was under-developed making the plot seem dull. The writing was alright and I feel the author does have some talent but the story itself was enough to make me want to put the book down. I hoped they'd be a decent ending as I kept on reading until the final page but unfortunately, the ending failed to deliver as well.
review 2: This was my first C.J. Lyons book and I loved her strong women characters on real life journeys of hope, loss, and faith wrapped in a thrilling mystery. The range of her characterization went from bright, bold and strong to dark and absolutely frightening. Her descriptions were vivid, yet she respected the intelligence of her readers allowing them to form ... moretheir own impressions. Her writing is grounded and no nonsense.
