Lucy Guardino FBI Thriller
review 1: When I saw this book was 700+ pages I thought it was going to take me forever to read it. Boy was I wrong. This book totally kept me interested. I love the fact that the main character FBI Agent Lucia Gaurdino was fearless. She knew what needed to be done to help keep children safe and would stop at nothing until they were. She risked her life and career to stop pedophiles. Anyone that does that is a hero.
review 2: This book has something for everyone. I really enjoyed seeing a capable, intelligent woman struggling between doing her job well, and being a good mom. I loved seeing a *good marriage* that was hitting a few snags, but that was a genuine place of warmth and renewal for the lead. I also felt my skin crawl with the accurate descriptions of personal
... moreity disorders in the victim and the villains. (While the villain was identified as a narcissist, it seemed like the kidnapped teen was well on her way to developing Borderline Personality Disorder. Not just because she was a cutter, but because she needed to be mirrored by an "idealized other," as Lawson called it. *Everything would be better* once Billy got there, and so forth.) This was an intelligent, well-put-together thriller, and I can't believe I got it just for signing up for her newsletter. :) less
