review 1: Bethany's Hearth is the third installment of the Unearthly World Series. So far this one is my favorite story. Finn just steals your heart from the beginning (even though he stole mine in the first when we met him)and Bethany is a fighter fighting to help her group stay alive on a destructive Earth. Finn is the healer for the North Zargonnii and wants to find a human for himself to love and be loved by. He is like most Zargonnii and remembers what it feels like being abandoned by his mother and the feelings he doesn't feel when on Holiday with a Zargonnii female. After meeting his brother, Kobe from the second book, he sees that a human can give him all the love he wants and even a child that he will help raise whether male or female. Bethany was raised to live on the land... more and knows how to survive if needed. However, she didn't grow up when the world was becoming destructive and its an eat or be eaten world now. She feels responsible for the group of women because a few followed her to her hometown when the world was starting to turn destructive. Finn and Bethany's relationship is explosive! Finn knows what he wants and he wants Bethany. Bethany tries to fight the attraction she has to Finn, but after getting to know him and seeing he's just as sensitive as he is a warrior she knows she's lost her heart.More allies are formed between some of the other aliens and Zargonnii's as well as new worlds discovered. I would definitely recommend this book! One person I'm excited to see and really hope he gets a book is Blu. Can't wait to see what's in store for us next!
review 2: I enjoyed the previous two books a little more than this one.The story begins on Earth as the Zargonni are trying to find more human women to rescue. The hero of the story is Finn the doctor from the first book, Bays Mercenary. Finn and Blu find six women living in igloos in a very frozen area and rescue them. Unfortunately, after they are rescued an enemy shoots at their spacecraft and all are forced into escape pods. I suspect there will be future stories following the other women in their escape/journey.This story follows Bethany and Finn as they travel from world to world attempting to get back to Finn's home planet. The chemistry could have been better. I wasn't loving the romance. Finn did zero wooing & simply assumed Bethany was going to be his mate. The introduction of so many new worlds with possible allies/enemies seemed a little chaotic. Bethany is repeatedly 'kidnapped' away from Finn.Overall I would say this was worth reading as the story line and world building is enjoyable. The author manages to tie in her other series as well, which I enjoyed.Recommended as good filler. less
