review 1: This was a cute and quick read! I really didn't know what to expect going in. I love the neighbor to lover storylines so I couldn't resist. I did get a nice little surprisingly good read here...The story is about Megan and Jack. Megan lives in a split house with 21a belonging to her and 21b inherited by Jack after his uncle died. Jack is a photographer that travels the world and is not the settling down type. Megan is a romance writer that can only dream about that one prince charming coming along....From the beginning, we see Jack come back to their town, Corkscrew Bay after spending one night with Megan several months ago. He had ran out on Megan and she was none to happy. She knew what kind of man Jack was but the abrupt way he RAN out on her was still a shock. So she ... moreis understandably still sore with him. He teases her and she wants to kill him but she also can not deny her true lust for the man. Jack was a man that had lost his parents at a young age and was given to his uncle who was not really prepared to care for him. So he has spent most of his childhood in boarding schools. He is a man with some issues behind his past so it is hard for him to see his self settling down with Megan. These two had a very good chemistry and some cute banter. They were extremely sexual attracted to each other and it was fun to watch them for a while. Until of course, they finally gave in to the attraction. They had a very hot hot scene on the beach. Very HOT indeed. These two go back and forth through the story with conflicting emotions. Eventually, they do resolve their issues and there is a sweet HEA. I love how Jack came to her at the end and finally put his feelings out there.Overall, very good and quick read. This is a great "in between" read because it is not a too complex storyline. Some but not a whole lot of angst, some steam, and a sweet HEA.****4 stars
review 2: Jack he's cocky, and sarcastic all the charms I like in a man, "maybe I had an itch for Cornish cream and scones." He folded his arms and lent a hip against the doorpost. "Why the twenty questions? Did you miss me?" He's a determined little s***, "when you're ready to tell me what you're so pi**ed off about, I'll be here." He rolled back his camera and glued his eyes to the lens. "This is far from over." He tends to get things that he wants, and I'm sure he's confusing the hell out of Megan, "we are not done. I taste it on your lips. I feel it in your body. I see it in the way you look at me. I read it all over your face." I liked the second book better in this series this one was just missing something and I'm not sure what it was. less
