review 1: this book is an exciting story about a Utopian land. I personally love these type of book, like hunger games, divergent, i am number four, maze runner etc. but there aren't many books that i can find anymore that are like this. its an excellent book and i loved it a lot. i would recommend it to anyone who likes the books listed above or if someone is looking for a science fiction/Utopian book this is a great read.
review 2: Elusion is yet another dystopian fiction novel for teens, but it does have an interesting premise. Regan lives in a world full of acid rain and harsh physical environments that require breathing equipment to survive. Because things are so bleak in the actual physical world, Regan's father creates a wristband called Elusion to help citizens e
... morescape into a more beautiful, peaceful place. However, after he is killed, things start to go wrong with Elusion and a small group of people (including Avery, a fellow teen who is vehemently opposed to Elusion and Regan's father) question whether Elusion is causing damage to the people who use it. Because it affects brain chemistry, it could potentially be creating addicts, especially if it has been successfully hacked so the Elusion time limits no longer exist. Regan is torn between her childhood friend Patrick, who helped work on Elusion with her father and now runs the company, and her new friend/love interest Josh, who believes that Elusion is dangerous. As she slowly begins to investigate the claims about Elusion and notices its effects on a number of people (including her own mother), Regan makes some startling discoveries about the changes that have been made since her father was around. She decides to go into Elusion herself to figure out if some of these things are true. The story ends with a very strange twist, which will DEFINITELY necessitate at least a sequel to explain. Overall, the story is dark but a world with the desire for the escapism of Elusion seems realistic and possible, and the love triangle between Regan, Patrick, and Josh works fairly well. The ending is hard to believe and completely unlike the rest of the book, but it's definitely a good starting point for a sequel. less
