review 1: I love the premise of this book, but found myself pausing a few times in confusion over the illustrations. For example, on the page where it's 9:00 in Iraq and 10:00 in Dubai, the illustration flows so seamlessly from one place to the next that I had to study it - to make sure it wasn't all the same place. (I think a misconception many Americans have is that the Middle East is all one generic place, and this book doesn't help make a clear distinction.)The idea of time zones presented in this way is cool, but the map at the back isn't excellent at showing where each kid is when.
review 2: This is a very clever concept book which exudes diversity. The content introduces time zones and how one moment in time can be so different around the world. The soft, varied ... moreillustrations in this book reflect different cultures in a beautiful way and blend into one another as if to unite. The illustrated World Map in the back of the book allows the reader to track the places and characters visited in the story.
