review 1: I’ve decided to still give this one a go because of Marco De Luca (Ben’s youngest brother from After Ben). I thought he’s the most interesting characters from that book and he just came out in the latter part of the book and not even in about 10 pages! Unfortunately, this one’s incredibly annoying as well. Again, the author did use the same pattern of presenting backstory with every scene. It’s just too much and too annoying. I felt like the author just wanted to prolong everything when she could easily jump into another scene. The only best thing about this book is how the author gave life to Marco de Luca. The rest of the characters (including Aiden, his brother Evan) are just extremely written in unbearable fashion. How is that even possible? Like what I’ve m... moreentioned earlier, similar “backstory/flashback” overload was dumped into writing this novel. It’s really such a shame because Marco De Luca’s charcter was a really good character. And honestly, it should have been Marco in the title because Aiden’s character was just bad. Again, I am disappointed with the author’s lack of interesting and exciting story for this series. I’m like 10 page away from finishing it but it’s just gotten too much because of the many things happening in the book and I think I pretty much wasted my time reading it. I’m sure glad that I didn’t get Peter’s story. Rating: 1 out of 5 stars
review 2: 3.5 rounded up b/c the narrator was so good. I listened to the audio version of this book. This is the 3rd book in this series. It can be read as a stand alone, but it helps to have read the 1st book as Ben and Theo are still a part of this story. But really the 2nd couple, Peter and Sean play little to now role in this book aside from a few references. Peter's father Paul plays a bigger role than Peter. Now the book itself. This book is a romance between Marco and Aiden , but it is more about Aiden's inner self inflicting turmoil. Aiden is a really good guy making really bad choices and not seeking the help of the people who love him. So the angst meter is off the charts in this book. Not for the romance, but because of the lack of communication. I had a lot of eye rolling and wanting to throttle Aiden and say "just say it for god's sake!!" This continue until about the 80% mark and then when the secrets finally come out, it was very anti climatic for me. The only saving grace is the romance with Marco; he is a great character and a joy in the book. On the other plus side, the narrator does a fabulous job. His voice for Marco was spot on complete with an Italian accent. And his narration of Aiden's inner voice and emotion was great. less

I like Aiden's story, but in my case Marco couldn't replace Ben. I still love book #1.
