review 1: I heard about this one while reading Crystal Cove by Lisa Kleypas. Any book that Lisa quotes and raves about I need to read and I wasn't disappointed. I was totally drawn in from the get go. I liked that it felt a bit different than your average historical romance. Set in Egypt and featuring a spunky archeologist and an American cowboy/soldier of fortune made for a fun story. There were plenty of smiles, exasperated groans and swoons to be had throughout. I highly recommend it!
review 2: This book had 2 things working against it right away: the title isn't fantastic (the use of the word "guy's" wasn't really time/setting appropriate) and the cover isn't one that really evokes excitement to pick this story over all the gazillions of other historical romances out
... more there. I'm not ashamed to admit that I typically judge books by their covers, but the synopsis sounded intriguing so I thought I'd give it a shot. I'm REALLY glad I did.The Other Guy's Bride was such an exciting and adventurous book that I had a hard time putting it down. The setting is turn of the century Egypt instead of a mansion in England. The characters were dirty, daring and exciting rather than simpering virgins trying to make it through a season with their maidenhead intact or the rogues they loathe and then bed. I'm often skeptical of historical romances because they are always the same story retold in 1,000 different ways. This book was so different and exciting, with a headstrong and accident prone heroine who doesn't know her own appeal & a hero who has done whatever he could NOT to inherit a dukedom, including pretending to be dead. There were sandstorms and villains and races and chases, just so much adventure packed into a sweet love story that will have even the most skeptical saying "awwwww!" Don't make a mistake and think this book is just another historical romance! You'll fall in love with this book and the wild world it transports you to. less

It was a good book, but predictable. Still it was funny on some parts
