review 1: Hmmmmm. Never read a "Dummies" book before - and thought that a free e-book collecting together the best of the series was an interesting idea. Sadly, it's a better idea than it is in execution. Even if you have a genuine interest in the subject being discussed in each chapter, being thrown in at the deep end, almost randomly, at a position midway through the book the chapter is extracted from makes for a very disorientating experience. I got 94 pages in, and gave up.
review 2: I feel like a dummy for reading this. Ok...I didn't read it - I skimmed it. I couldn't get through this one fast enough, and for once I don't mean that as a good thing. I borrowed this from a Nook friend and it was worth the borrow, but soooo glad I did not pay for it. What a stran... morege compilation of topics. Did they sit in their boardroom that day and throw darts at a topic wall and just print whatever the dart landed on?I didn't feel smarter for having read it, but I'm pretty sure they don't promise that anywhere in the text. less
