review 1: This book sucked me in. The central characters are warm and likable, it is a relief to read something well written that doesn't dwell in dark place. Corine Gantz is a really good story teller, I wanted to know how it all turns out and at the same time didn't want to skip ahead and miss any part. I was surprised to read at the end that she self edited and self published. Like Mr Darcy created by Jane Austen, or Heathcliff created by Emily Bronte, or Mark Darcy in Bridget Jones, the most lovable difficult fictional men are created by women to devotedly pine for an unlikely woman, and here Corine Gantz created Lucas the french man for us, and it works.
review 2: This is not my usual genre of book but I have to say I did enjoy the friendships these 3 very different
... more women developed. It is true you can find some very wonderful people that become your extended family if you just open yourself up to them. I enjoyed the stangers who became friends & then realized they meant more to each other than any of them had ever thought possible. The story that unfolds as these three very different women find common ground & each of them grows thru that friendship. I would reccomend this book to anyone looking for an easy read. less
