review 1: Second books are always tough...to read and to write. You're expected to move a story along just enough to keep your readers satisfied, but you still need to leave enough for your grand finale in book 3.I wasn't all-in when I started book #1 because I just wasn't sure about the concept--our heroine Ellie is really the archangel Gabriel? I struggled and fought against it and by the end of book 1, I'd accepted it and loved the series.Book 2 moved the series along and although it was tough for me in the beginning (Ellie and Will are strictly business now...no annoying or distracting "feelings" will get in their way...), I loved the story line. I also really grew to love the notion of Caden and who he represented. It's like we got a tiny bit of a love triangle, without the ann... moreoying "who do I really love?" aspect that's pretty common. We know who has Ellie's heart, no matter how charming Caden is.The cliffhanger? OMG. Cruel, really....but it did its job and I moved straight into book 3 before finally falling asleep at 3 a.m.
review 2: I am enjoying this new spin on angels and demons. I am not a religious person. This story is intriguing and full of fun. Although Ellie was a little whiny in this book, she did go through a lot (mom, dad, friends dying and all) so I guess I can give her a pass, hopefully we will see a tougher butt kicker in the upcoming book. I enjoyed the introduction to her Nana the physic. Hopefully we will see more of her in the upcoming book. less

Very good, but the ending was such a cliffhanger! It was terribly sad at the end.
